Turkey (more about that in another post) last weekend to find that Fall had made a thorough visit to the property in our absence. \u00a0Most of the leaves have fallen so we&#8217;ve missed a lot of the color. \u00a0There was a sea of leaves in the yard since no one was mowing in the interim. \u00a0We&#8217;ve had some of those kick the leaves days with with sunny dry weather and the crunch, temperatures have just gone slightly under freezing. \u00a0The Pineapple Sage is making a nice case for replanting in the herb garden.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1228\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pineapple Sage after first freeze<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The big pumpkin that volunteered in back of the garage almost finished coloring up before frost killed off the plant. class=\"wp-caption-text\">Last pumpkin from volunteer plant<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Walking through the woods I was struck by how the beech trees really strut their stuff at this time of year. \u00a0Only the oaks and the beech trees really have substantial leaves left and they really stand out in the woods.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1230\" style=\"width: 436px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img href=\"http:\/\/wp.macfusion.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/Lake-Market-Calcutta1.jpg\">abundant harvest<\/a>&#8221; submission for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gardeninggonewild.com\/?p=8784\">Gardens Gone Wild Picture This October photo contest<\/a> had won first runner up. \u00a0This is an enjoyable photo contest which always provokes
